What it measures
Detects antibodies to citrullinated proteins, highly specific for rheumatoid arthritis. It can appear years before symptoms and predicts erosive disease.

Causes of high values
- Rheumatoid arthritis (specificity about 95%)
- Early or pre-clinical RA
- Occasionally psoriatic arthritis or other connective tissue disease
